2. Scope and basic principles

This policy applies when you visit worldwideweather.net, follow its external-media controls, contact us, or use an authorised editorial account. We process data only for stated purposes, limit it to what is necessary, protect it and do not keep it longer than needed. These are the core principles in Article 4 of Georgia's Law on Personal Data Protection.

The public forecast does not require an account. We do not ask for your name, track your precise location, create a visitor profile or run a site analytics product. Choosing Berlin, Moscow, Tbilisi or New York selects a public page; it does not ask the browser for location access. A search term is sent as part of the requested URL and can therefore appear in technical request logs.

3. Data we process and why

SituationDataPurpose and legal ground
Ordinary website requestIP address, date and time, requested URL, browser and device headers, referrer, response status, and security events where generated.Delivering the page, protecting the service, diagnosing errors and preventing abuse. The ground is our legitimate interest in operating a reliable and secure publication and, where applicable, compliance with a legal duty.
Email or postal contactYour contact details, message, attachments and our reply.Answering your request, handling a correction or rights request, taking steps you ask us to take, and keeping evidence of important correspondence. The ground depends on the request: your application, steps connected with a contract, a legal duty or a legitimate interest in handling correspondence and claims.
Authorised editorial accessVerified account identity, authentication claims, review actions, timestamps and audit records.Restricting administration, documenting manual publication approval and protecting editorial integrity. The ground is contract performance or our legitimate interests. The remote dashboard is currently disabled until its access controls are configured.
Optional external mediaWhen you choose to load a YouTube video, your IP address, page URL, browser data and identifiers handled by Google/YouTube.Displaying the video you requested. The connection is initiated only after your choice. YouTube's own terms and privacy policy then apply.
AdSense site verificationThe publisher account identifier appears in a verification meta tag and in the AdSense script URL. When verification is enabled, your browser requests that script from Google on public pages.Allowing Google to confirm the publisher and website. Advertisement slots remain blocked until the account, page eligibility and consent controls have been approved.

4. Cookies, local storage and advertising

Our public forecast pages do not use an application tracking cookie or save your selected city and unit preference in browser storage; the unit choice is carried in the page URL. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security mechanisms. The AdSense verification meta tag does not load Google code, but the accompanying AdSense script does when verification is enabled.

No ad slot is active on this site. Before advertisements can be enabled, the site configuration requires an approved AdSense account and slot, page-level approval, valid content/data rights, and an approved consent platform. Refusing optional advertising consent will not prevent access to the weather forecast. The Cookie Settings page will expose the consent controls when that platform is connected.

5. Recipients and service providers

  • Cloudflare provides DNS, network security, caching, hosting and database infrastructure. It processes technical request and security data for these services. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Google receives data when a connected consent service is used, or when you choose to load or visit YouTube. SeeGoogle's Privacy Policy andHow Google uses information from partner sites.
  • MET Norway supplies numerical forecasts to our server. A visitor's IP address or browser request is not forwarded to MET Norway by our forecast update process. The server requests data for configured city coordinates and then validates and caches the result.

We do not sell personal data. We may disclose data where law requires it, to protect legal rights, or to professional advisers bound by appropriate confidentiality duties.

6. Processing outside Georgia

Cloudflare and Google operate internationally, so technical data may be processed in countries outside Georgia. Where the processing is an international transfer for which we are responsible, we use a ground and safeguards permitted by Articles 37 and 38 of Georgia's Law on Personal Data Protection, including appropriate contractual and organisational safeguards where required. Provider policies explain their infrastructure and transfer arrangements.

7. Retention

Technical logs and security events are kept only for the periods available in the relevant Cloudflare service and needed to operate, investigate and secure the website. We do not create a separate long-term public visitor history. Correspondence is kept while we handle the request and for as long as reasonably necessary for follow-up, accounting, legal obligations or the establishment, exercise or defence of claims. Editorial access and approval records are retained while they are needed to prove who authorised a publication and to protect the integrity of the publication. When a legal obligation or dispute requires longer retention, that requirement controls.

8. Your rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions in Georgian law, you may ask us to:

  • confirm whether we process your data and explain the processing;
  • give you access to your data and a copy;
  • correct, update or complete inaccurate data;
  • stop processing and erase or destroy data;
  • block data in the cases defined by law;
  • provide or transmit data in a portable format where the portability right applies;
  • withdraw consent at any time for future processing based on consent; and
  • object to an automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects.

A withdrawal does not make earlier consent-based processing unlawful. We may need information to verify that a requester is the person concerned. Exercising a right is generally free, subject to the limited exceptions in law.

You may also apply to the State Audit Office of Georgia, which supervises the lawfulness of personal-data processing in Georgia, or bring a claim before a competent court. The current consolidatedLaw of Georgia on Personal Data Protection contains the full conditions and time limits.

9. Security and children

We use access controls, separate application databases, encrypted HTTPS connections, validation and audit records appropriate to the service. No internet service can promise absolute security. This general-audience weather publication is not directed to children and does not knowingly ask children to submit personal data.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when the website's processing changes. A material change, including activation of advertising, analytics, public accounts or a new contact form, requires the notice and consent controls to be reviewed before that feature is enabled. The date at the top identifies the published version.

11. Privacy contact

Send a privacy request to contact@worldwideweather.net or to the controller's postal address shown above. State that your message concerns privacy and describe the request clearly.
